About me
My name is Nat JM and I am a writer and musician, currently living in London, England. I grew up in France and moved to England in my early 20s.
“Taking off” is my debut novel and I am doing the final edits in summer 2008, for publication later in the year if all goes according to plan (as if!).
OK, so nothing very intriguing so far, what else can I say? I normally shy away from writing “I”, preferring the less ego-centric form of “i” but I am actually revising my position on this, for pure visual concerns. I actually like the way “I” look on the page.
They say you should write about what you know, so I did. I wrote about women in their late 20s living in London (OK, I’m in my early 30s now but my memory is still good enough to remember the days when I was 28). Some of these women were born in London, some were not. I wrote about lesbian relationships. I wrote about figuring out your sexuality. I wrote about taking charge and control of your life. I wrote about making your dream come true.
I wrote and wrote. And I decided I wanted to write some more around those themes. There will be other novels. But for now, I have decided I wanted to share my passion for life, my passion for London, my passion for lesbianism (it sounds like a bad word, doesn’t it? I hate “ism”). I usually fill my own passion by reading books and watching films, so the best way to share my passion is to write reviews of all the books I read and all the films I watch.
If you have written/made/collaborated/published/produced a book or a film about London, either modern or historical, please get in touch for a possible review. Same if your book or film touches upon lesbian relationships or lifestyles.
We all get excited about some specific books and films; what are your favourites?
Join the mailing list! - on the 15th of each month, I’ll send you an email with a list of the new reviews published on the website as well as any news related to the publication of “Taking off”.
